Okay, there are so many good, no great songwriters around the world that few Americans ever get to hear.  I stumbled on this website largely about Finnish pop music but which also reviews music from other locales.  A lot of the Swedish pop band The Merrymakers which in some ways sound pretty derivative, but don't we all in some ways.Reminds me somewhat of the Finn brothers (Crowded House etc.) with some Beatles creeping in.   Check out the other postings at One Chord to Another if you're looking for something off the beaten track.
